Yesterday I made a valentine card using the new stamp set 'Sheltering Tree'. Today I want to show you how the stamp can be used to represent the seasons. First:

I only have one valentine but have been playing around making a few cards. This one uses a set called 'Sheltering Tree'. I have 'blinged' it up using punched hearts from red glimmer paper using the 'Confetti Heart Border Punch'
Valentines Day is just five weeks away! This year I have been super organised and got my card made ahead of time with the amazing resources from Stampin Up! It is a variation on a CASE from the new Spring/ Summer catalogue.

I cut a piece of card measuring 3x4 inch and stuck the squares on top and then added these to a card base which had been mounted with white Cardstock. I used Daffodil Drlight and Real Red Cardstock.

It took me ages to cut out this pile of 12 different black and white one inch squares
All the papers are from the 'Stacked with Love' designer series paper stack from the forthcoming Spring/Summer Occasions Catalogue 2015. The pack is billed as part of the valentine day products but I wanted to show you that it is much more versatile than that. The monochrome effect from one side of the double sided papers makes a brilliant patchwork effect.
Why not pop back tomorrow to see what I make with them?
I used the mini treat bags to make a sweet mini album.
2014 was a VERY good year and was certainly up there as one of the best. It was also the year I turned 50. I had a wonderful time with friends prior to the day at a fun, delicious tea party, spent the weekend itself in Canterbury including a trip to see Marti Pellow in Evita courtesy of my husband Len. Marti also happened to be staying in the same hotel as me ( or I was staying in the same hotel as him since he was there first!); and a wonderful surprise visit from my lovely friend David.
Now back to crafting and the 'Best Year Ever' designer series papers that are free with a £45 spend. Here I used most of the papers to make some mini treat bags using the Mini Treat Bag Framelit die. I hope you agree they look lovely. Such lovely colours and sweet patterns. Pop back later to see what I do with them.
The first time I saw this set I dismissed it thinking it was not really my 'thing'; but as often happens once people start posting ideas I realised it not only had lots of potential but was extremely versatile. The images are so sharp they need very little embellishment to show them off.
Framelets are also available to save a lot of time cutting out the intricate shapes.
Washi tape created the delicate stripes on the background
On the card above I stamped the images with Versamark on vellum and then embossed them with white embossing powder. The background is my favourite Gorgeous Grunge stamp set. I have used it SO much.
