New baby card

Here is the card I made for the birth of my new nephew Marlo. I really love the dotty embossing folder which provided the texture for the base. The teddy came from a stamp set called 'Bundle of love' by Stampin Up which is just perefect for new baby cards.

12 Days of Christmas - Day 12 - 12 x12 Christmas collage frame

I started with a 12x12 piece of Old Olive cardstock as the base. I then created 2x2 squares using Early Espresso; Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla and Holly Berry Bouquet Designer Series Paper and used a corner rounder to soften the edges of each piece. I then used the scallop square punch to punch out a variety of squares out of the Holly Berry Bouquet Christmas Designer Series Speciality Paper. After this I punched out boho blossom flowers out of Very Vanilla cardstock and Cherry Cobbler cardstock; ovals out of Old Olive and modern labels out of Cherry Cobbler. I assembled the pieces as shown and blinged it all up with Jewels. I used dimensionals to raise up each layer. I then put it in a wooden frame that I purchased from The Range. What do you think?

12 Days of Christmas - Day 11 - Reindeer candy cane holder

I got this idea from this website: and I knew that I  had to have a go myself. I used a Big Shot two tag die for the base in Early Espresso and a bit of red glitter and the inch punch for his nose. Cute, cute, cute!

12 Days of Christmas - Day 10 - 3 x3 Christmas card box

To make this box I followed a You Tube video tutorial but used Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler cardstock instead of the white. I love 3x3 cards and this is a perfect box to store them in; they can also be used as tags for gifts. Remember stampin Up sell the mini envelopes for them too - item number 107309 for a pack of 40. The box was embossed as before.

12 Days of Christmas - Day 9 - 3 x3 Christmas cards

I love the simplicity of these. I cut a 12x12 pice of Very Vanilla cardstock into four 3x6 pices and folded each piece to create four 3x3 cards. I then ran one side of each piece through the Big Shot using one of the Textured Impressions Embossing sets of Designer Frames to create an embossed oval frame. Using the Extra Large Oval punch I punched out 4 pieces of Holly Berry Bouquet speciality paper to fit the centre of each oval. I then stamped Merry Christmas using Cherry Cobbler onto Very Vanilla cardstock and punched it out using the Word Window punch. I stuck it  onto the right hand side of the oval using dimensionals and finished it off with a punched flower from Boho blossoms and a pearl. Simple!

12 Days of Christmas - Day 8 - Jublee gift boxes

Once again I used 'Season of joy' stamp set. A rectangular piece of 'Whisper White' cardstock was stamped with Cherry Cobbler ink pad. The cardstock was then joined together down the centre with sticky strip and along one of the open ends.It was then sealed further by running the join through the crimper. The opposite end was joined in the opposite direction and sealed in the same way as before. Old olive satin ribbon was used to decorate. The second one was made using Holly Berry Bouquet speciality paper.

12 Days of Christmas - Day 7 - Gift bags

Here I used the 'Season of joy' stamp set to decorate white carrier and paper bags which I purchsed online. They were finished off with 1/8th inch taffeta ribbon and rhinestone jewels. I used Real Red and Old Olive.

12 Days of Christmas - Day 6 - Wine glass lampshade

For this I used vellum cardstock; gold embossing powder and gold elastic thread from Stampin up. The scalloped edge was made using the corner rounder and the holes with my Crop-o-dile. The ends were stuck together with Tombow all purpose glue. The tealight was from Poundland - which came in a pack of 3. Do not use tealights with a real flame!

12 Days of Christmas - Day 4 - Milk carton advent calendar

  1. You will need to cut 25 milk cartons from your Stampin Up Sizzix die.
  2. I cut 9 in Cherry Cobbler 8 in Very Vanilla and 8 in Old Olive cardstock.
  3. The cartons were assembled using red sticky strip. The tops were left open to insert chocolates; sweets or small gifts. I am hoping mine will be filled with Stampin Up buttons, brads and ribbons!
  4. Each carton was decorated with 'Holly berry bouquet' Designer Series Paper measuring    x   cms and wrapped around the assembled carton.
  5. The numerals were made from the Sizzix die called  Timeless Type with the Big Shot. You will need to make sure you have the correct numerals from 1 to 25.
  6. These were added to the carton on a piece of cardstock cut into a scollop circle using the scallop circle punch

12 Days of Christmas - Day 2 - Gift bag of tags

Using a totally different; non traditional Christmas colour scheme this time, I have created a gift bag of tags. First I created my own patterned paper using a A4 piece of 'Whisper White' cardstock and the 'Serene Snowflakes' stamp set; in the style of a 'One sheet wonder'

  1. Taking the largest stamp and 'Baja Breeze' ink I stamped randomly all over the card; then with the middle sized snowflake stamp and 'Bashful Blue' I stamped again in the spaces.
  2. Next I used the three little snowflake stamp with the new 'Island Indigo' to fill in all the tiny white spaces.
  3. When this had dried I took a sponge dauber and lightly sponged the cardstock with Frost White Shimmer Paint.
  4. From this one sheet I cut two Big Shot 'Top Note' Die shapes. I then trimmed around the serated egde to make them slightly smaller
  5. The rest I cut up using the  'Large Tag' punch.
  6. From Island Indigo cardstock I cut two Big Shot 'Top Note' Die shapes and enough tags from the 'Extra Large Punch' to match the number of tags made with the snowflake card large tags.
  7. I stuck the Large Tag shapes onto the Extra Large Tag shapes; punched a small hole in the top with the 'Crop-o-dile' and threaded 0.32mm taffeta ribbon through and tied in place
  8. I put the finished tags into a 'Small cellophane bag'.
  9. I mounted the small snowflake Top Note shape onto the Island Indigo Top Note and stuck down
  10. I then folded this lengthways and attached to the top of the cellophane bag
  11. To decorate I tied Whisper White taffeta ribbon around the top and then tied a small piece of the thin taffeta ribbon around the knot.

12 Days of Christmas - Day 1 - Matchbox of tags

If like me you always run out of tags when wrapping Christmas presents then the stamp set and matching punch by Stampin Up called 'Delightful Decorations' and 'Ornament Extra Large' mean you will never be without tags ever again! Simply stamp and punch and add some ribbon or thread and you are ready to go.

I made a matchbox. Here is how:-
  1. Cut a piece of 'Cherry Cobbler' Card stock to 18.5 cms by 10.5 cms.
  2. On the long side score at 2.5 cms on both sides. Fold.
  3. On the short side score at 2 and 4.5 cms. Fold.
  4. Cut away the rectangle in each corner.
  5. On the longside cut on the first and second score lines up to the first fold to create small tabs.
  6. Put redline tape on these tabs and on the long tabs
  7. Fold and stick to make a rectangular box
For the sleeve:
  1. Cut some 'Cherry Cobbler' cardstock to 18.5 cms by 9.5cms
  2. Score at 2.5, 8, 10.5 and 16 cms
  3. Fold creases.
  4. Add redline tape to the 2.5 cms piece and join to make a sleeve. This should now slide over your box
To decorate:
  1. Cut two pices of  'Cherry Cobbler' 3.2 cm striped grosgrain ribbon; one about 10 cms to fit round the sleeve and one about 40cms to create a bow.
  2. Secure smaller piece of ribbon at the bottom of the sleeve
  3. On the top of the sleeve use the long pice of ribbon and tie a bow.
For the tags
  1. Cut several strips of A4 'Very Vanilla' cardstock to 5.5 cms wide on the narrow side of the card
  2. Stamp four 'Delightful Decorations' stamps in your chosen design in 'Cherry Cobbler' on one strip
  3. Stamp four 'to...from' decorations in 'Cherry Cobbler' on another strip
  4. Use the 'Ornament Punch' to cut out the shapes
  5. Stick one decorated ornament back to back with a 'to...from' shape to make a tag
  6. Decorate the front with 'Dazzling Diamonds'
  7. Using a 'Crop-o-dile' punch a small hole through the neck of the tag and thread 3mm wide 'Cherry Cobbler' taffeta ribbon through and tie
  8. Make as many tags as you like. The box will hold about 10.
